Why I’m Done With Etsy

Etsy was supposed to be a platform for makers and small sellers like me. But I'm not going to keep quiet and move on silently. Here's why I'm really leaving and starting this crystal liquidation sale.

They market themselves as a champion of small businesses, but behind the curtain it feels more like a machine that squeezes sellers dry while offering little protection or support. Between rising fees, robotic "seller support", and the way they treated me, it just stopped feeling like the right fit for me. It’s scammy behavior dressed up in pretty branding, and I’m not here for it. That’s why I’ve decided to close this chapter there and move my focus elsewhere.

Where I’m Selling Now

I'm still selling on Etsy, but there's no way I'm renewing any listings or posting new ones. I’ve been on eBay for years, and while no platform is perfect, it’s been a steady place to connect with buyers who know what they’re looking for. I’ll continue to list there as I transition out of Etsy, keeping things simple and straightforward. My goal is to clear all my inventory, make back some of the money I spent on inventory, supplies, and ads, and be done selling for good.

I’ve sold on eBay for years, but at this point I’m not looking to keep building on any platform. My focus now is simple: clear out inventory, close this chapter, and make space for what’s next.
